Orana Grocery Collection
We are collecting much needed grocery items for the Orana organisation in Sutherland. These items will be distributed by Orana to the needy and homeless. So far, our church has collected over 1000 items!
Samaritan’s Purse
Each year, we participate in ‘Operation Christmas Child’ run by the Samaritan’s Purse. We pack shoe boxes with fun and essential items which are sent to children in need across the world. In 2025, over 210,000 boxes were packed in Australia & New Zealand!
Christmas Hampers
In 2025, we provided a total of 12 hampers to the Salvation Army and Orana NSW in Sutherland. The hampers are distributed to the needy families and homeless in the community. Thank you to the congregation for their much appreciated contribution.
Christmas Bowl
The Christmas Bowl is ‘A Christmas Call to Action’. For many years, our congregation donate funds to this needy cause that have supported refugees from war-ravaged Europe, famine-stricken Ethiopia, communities affected by natural disasters, conflict in Gaza, and displaced people around the world.
Lent Event
The Lent Event runs for the 40 days leading up to Easter. It is a practical expression of witness and solidarity with the Uniting Church’s overseas partners. It is all about giving up something to refocus your lives in preparation for Easter. The funds raised during this event goes toward supporting development projects in Asia, Africa and the Pacific.
Many in our Congregation have given up something which they see as a distraction from facing their faith and are fully reliant on God to give them strength and guidance during this time of re-connection. For more details about this worthwhile project, visit the Lent Event website: lentevent.com.au
